Dallas resident Jeff King is the poster boy for the journeyman caddie at the professional golf level. For almost two decades he has been looping for rising stars and fellow road warriors on the LPGA and PGA Tours, including Pat Hurst, Cristie Kerr, Vaughn Taylor and Luke List.
He has been through the highs – a long run with then-rising LPGA player Candie Kung that included multiple victories, travels to exotic locations around the world, and even a brief appearance at this year’s President’s Cup and the behest of Assistant Captain Davis Love III. He’s also felt the lows, bouncing between the PGA and LPGA Tours, finding jobs only to lose them, and living out of hotel rooms and suitcases for months at a time. Such is the life of the veteran caddy.
